A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it’s only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer’s twisted work becomes clear. Sara’s ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation — a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he’s got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county’s sole female detective, Lena Adams — the first victim’s sister — want to serve her own justice. But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath .. or mean her death.
There’s a thing to be said about Karin Slaughter’s BLINDSIGHTED, and that is ‘brilliant’. I’ve only read one book from her and that, I realized shortly after I finished it, was the second book in the series. As someone who likes to start from beginning in her series, let me tell you how I came about that book. I helped clean the house of a friend, and per her asking, kept a bag full of her books that she didn’t have the room for at her new place. Anyway, one summer, I’m bored out of my mind in the newly moved in house of my own, I want to read something new. Something that I just grab off the shelf-and yeah, it’s been a while and she still hadn’t claimed her books and told me to keep them if I wanted. KISSCUT, the second installment in Karin Slaughter’s Grant County series is-yes, you guessed it right- the one I pick up. I was blown away after that. I think it took me about a day or two to finish it and that was only because I had to be social and all, so had to take breaks. This one? Took me a day and half. Guess I wasn’t required to be as social this time around.
