Now, with pride, money, and his company’s survival at stake, he won’t rest until she’s experienced his own brand of justice.

One Sara must accept if she doesn’t want to end up in jail.

Up and coming football hero, Colton Michaels, makes a Hail Mary pass one night in the college locker room that results in the hottest, sexiest five days of his young life. However, interference after the play has him hiding his past and burying his future in the bottom of a bottle. While Colt seems to have it all, looks can be deceiving, especially when you’re trapped so far in a closet that you can’t see your way out. When ten years of living his expected fast-lane lifestyle lands him engaged to his manipulative Russian supermodel girlfriend, he decides it’s time to call a new play.

Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. His reputation as an excellent coach, hard-nosed business man, and savvy entrepreneur earned him respect in the sometimes catty world of competitive cheerleading. When Jace learns of his ex-lover’s plans to marry, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully-placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?

This was a surprisingly more emotional book than I expected. Reading the blurb, I thought a somewhat traditional, albeit very much appreciated, romance, but what I got went a little deeper.

We meet the two heroes when they’re in their college years. Despite this book being labeled as New Adult, a genre that’s generally referring to protagonists in their college years, early twenties, and the fact that we spend some considerable time with Jace and Colt during these times, this book was not a New Adult book. I’m specifying this for those who’re meticulous with their genre reading. Even though we see how their deep bond and their relationship started when they’re both in college, the majority of the story takes place ten years later, when both the heroes are in their thirties. I’m hoping this does not count as spoilers. Like I said, for those who’re particular with their reading, this book might be a miss, but I wouldn’t want it to be.

Can a love built on secrets survive?

Rugged, hot, and rock hard, Dred Zander is exactly the type of man that normally sends Pixie running. Not dreaming about running her hands down his washboard abs…and lower. The lead singer and guitarist for the band Preload embodies trouble behind his quick smile and guarded eyes, and Pixie left trouble behind her years ago along with the name Sarah Jane Travers and the pathetic trailer her mom called home. With her abusive past in her past, she has a new life, a new family at Second Circle, and a dream of opening her own business. She needs capital and time. What she doesn’t need is a tempting long-haired rocker or the paparazzi that follow him around.

But Dred has other ideas. Pixie’s sweet hazel eyes, purple hair and kaleidoscopic tattoo of exotic flowers that swirl up her arm haunt his dreams, and he knows she wants him too. He just has to convince her. But as a juicy exposé threatens to expose their pasts, and a blackmailer terrorizes their present, Pixie and Dred have to decide what really matters and fight like hell to keep it.

It’s been a while since I had that special feeling of not being able to put a book down, of thinking about it constantly, wanting to get back to it that I thought I lost my touch with that part of the pleasure of reading. This book though, it reminded me that yeah, I still had that spark. Because, damn, I just simply couldn’t stop thinking about this book, about all the characters in it.

If you’ve already read the previous books, you know who Dred and Pixie are, and how they already had a chemistry going on. If you haven’t, well, I strongly suggest you go back and get them all and start reading, not because it needs to be read in order-though I think it’s best enjoyed that way- but because you’re seriously missing out on some great reading experience. I’ve loved this series from the very first book, and every new one is cause for accelerated heartbeats and over the top excitement. No kidding.
