Another book with a hero of Angelville, uh, I mean Sent Ones-land, and here we meet Koldo the Mysterious, and Nicola the Twin.
I liked them both. Koldo was a good and delicious mix of strength and vulnerability which is something that always attracts me. There’s just something with big strong men being vulnerable in one way or another that I can’t resist, and let me tell you, it’s quite hard to resist this guy. So if anyone asks, I put up a little bit fight. Although he was a gentleman for most of the book, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be glad to know he had his caveman moments. And I mean this in the sexiest, and well, nice way possible. Apart from all this, Koldo was also a man with a tortured past, and oh how I love those. He had a lot on his plate, great many obstacles in his way, and quite a few skeletons in his closet. But even with all this, he comes off as a true hero.
Nicola was similar to Koldo when it came to a tortured past. She had her own obstacles to get through, she also had a sister to take care of, and I can always relate to that. She’s the kind of character that first appears weak but as you get to know her, you realize she’s much stronger than you realized. She had some pretty messy situations she had to face and hats off to her, she passed those ugly tests with flying colors.
I also very much liked the romance, as opposed to my opinion for the first book this was better paced in it. There was enough interaction between the two for me to believe in their love and how they came to care for each other. There was action too, plot and subplot, enough to engage me and keep engaging me. We met more of the Army of Doom for which I’m glad, and some others for which I was not so glad.
A book that was good in its emotions, plotline and characters, not to mention it was a step closer to one of the books I was most looking for. Observe how I said, one of the books.
And while you observe and probably guess at those books, I’m adding four big spoonfuls of this story into my hodgepodge and thinking happy thoughts because I suspect there might be a little hairy minion around here somewhere trying to affect my thoughts. Smell my delicious hodgepodge, minion, and stay away! Or maybe I should call for help and have a big sexy angel come protect me?
